alien editor in PythonWin/IDLE

Just wondering,

how difficult would it be to integrate your favourite editor into
IDLE and PythonWin?

I haven't looked at it yet, but should'nt there be a uniform interface
to integrate other editors.

For example I'm using gvim on Windows to write python.
But emacs and nedit might be interesting for IDLE, too.

Just to raise the thought.
