+1  except I assumed the subject spelling was a typo.

If one really feels this needs to be deliberately snafu'd, at least
choosing longer names would minimize the inevitable confusion.

Better than "sys.args" would be "sys.arguments" or "sys.arg_list".
IMHO, etc.
