Unless something has changed since 2.4.1, that is the current  
behavior.  Thomas' title should've probably been "Building readline  
on OS X 10.4 fails", rather than "Building on OS X 10.4 fails" (which  
reads as "Building Python on OS X 10.4 fails" given the list).
