The first guess on an SGI box is usually the last:  recompile w/o
optimization.  But if they're *really* using gcc that's probably not
relevant.

In the latter case Guido knows what to do.  But he's not going to tell you
before you tell him how to close the 517 HP-UX thread bugs assigned to him
first <0.9 wink>.
