Okay.  I took a quick look.  It's really old (July 1997).  It looks
like a more reasonable wrapping than linuxaudiodev, although I would
want to review it more carefully against the OSS programmer's guide.

I would prefer a pure Python solution, because the code would be
shorter and easier to read and maintain.  It may be, however, that the
ossmodule is still up-to-date; if so, it may be easier to use it than
to rewrite it.
