Well, as maintainer of 206, I'd like to answer that: user requests. I
haven't done any numeric programming for some time now, so I'm out of
touch with this world.

I'm planning of preparing 206 for c.l.py discussion this weekend.

Well, my usual rule is that anyone proposing a new module must do the web
research necessary to find out where is the official place to download a
known working version from.
