But furling is like rolling something up.

    marry
    knit
    stitch
    merge
    weld
    meld
    ladder

Considered but rejected: adhere, braid, mesh, lash, crosslink, bind,
conjoin, unite, tie, squeeze.

Hm.  None really beat "zip" for me in terms of the visualization
(except perhaps "marry").
