What if we commit Antoine patch for 3.2.x, and the "correct" patch for py3k trunk?.

I am actually +1 to Marc-Andre. I feel in my guts that the provided patch is hidding a deeper issue. But avoiding surprises for third parties in 3.2.1 is a good idea.
