Bug #113862, was updated on 2000-Sep-08 01:48
Here is a current snapshot of the bug.
Project: Python
Category: Documentation
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Bug Group: None
Priority: 4
Summary: 2.0b1 lib.pdf, problems with bookmark titles
Details: In Acrobat Reader, 3.25 shows in the Bookmarks as "protect unhbox voidb@x kern.06envbox" etc. It does show correctly as "__builtin__ -- Built-in functions" in the main window, and when printed. 3.26, same problem. Other titles seem OK (haven't checked them all, though).

Comment:
The bookmark entry for the copy_reg module has the same defect. This is probably a result of the seriously painful hackery used to make the underscore be somewhat less special.
Must be fixed for 2.0 final.

Comment:
Still not sure how to fix.
I'm reducing the priority of this since it isn't enough to hold off the release of 2.0. This is also not new in 1.6 or 2.0, so appearantly it is survivable.
It should be fixed, but that may happen as part of the migration to a new markup language & translation tools.
