Bug #123166, was updated on 2000-Nov-22 07:22
Here is a current snapshot of the bug.
Project: Python
Category: Windows
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Bug Group: Platform-specific
Priority: 5
Summary: Python20 installation overwrite a newer pdh.dll
Details: I installed python 2.0 on WinNT 4.0. I use the version 5.00.1605.1 of the library pdh.dll.
After the installation, I notice that the pdh.dll has been replace by an older version of this library.
Normally, the python installation should rewrite a library only to update it to a new version.
tank you.

I find this hard to believe: the only system DLLs the installer contains are MSVCIRT.DLL and MSVCRT.DLL.
Look at the file install.log in the root of your installed Python tree. Is pdh.dll mentioned in there?

Comment:
Sorry, I think is not a python 2.0 problem. I look at the install.log file and there is nothing about the file pdh.dll.
I also installed the win32all-135.exe from ActiveState after python 2.0. It should be the source of my problem.
thank you very much
