My point was that not all platforms either come
with Tk installed or have Tk in the Python binary
installer, so you can't *use* Tkinter with an
out-of-the-box Python installation on those
platforms. So Tkinter might as well not be in
the binary installer for those platforms either.
It turns out I was behind the times in asserting
that all non-Windows platforms are like that.
But I'd be surprised if some such platforms did
not exist (e.g. non-Linux unices).
