Looks like this sort of thing is very much in flux at the moment - we should hold 
off until a stable system hits the mainline kernel. Thanks for the links! We'll 
have to wait and see whether the new system allows the work to be done in the 
parent process or whether it will have to be done in the child process.  Yes, 
would be fun to work on!
