Hello PSF-Vote and PSF-Community,

We have some great news to share - that we have seated one additional
at-large director on the Python board, Paola Pacheco. Paola was tied with
Trey Hunner in the recent election, and Trey was chosen via the official
tiebreaking procedure.

However, after review of the new bylaws and election results, we were able
to seat one more director. This new director is Paola. Congratulations!

How did this occur?

Section 5.5 of the new bylaws say: "At the 2017 annual meeting of members
and at each annual meeting thereafter, the voting members shall elect
directors sufficient to fill eleven (11) at-large director seats."

In this latest election, Van Lindberg explicitly ran on the basis that, if
elected, he would fill an officer director seat. [1][2]. At the first
meeting of the new board, Van was appointed an Officer director, leaving
one at-large director seat open. Given the existing vote already captured
the preferences of the membership, identifying Paola as the 11th at-large
director was found to be consistent with the bylaws, with the vote of the
membership, and was determined to not invalidate any portion of the vote
under Delaware law.

Our revised bylaws permitted us to create a PSF Fellow Work Group to
collect, review, and vote on PSF Fellow Member nominations.

Currently, the Work Group has 4 board directors on it. We are interested in
getting 3-6 more Work Group members. Once we get a larger group, we will
work on a policy for voting procedures. Once we have that in place, Work
Group members will review nominations, discuss them, and vote on them.

If you are interested in taking part, please send an email to
psf-fellow at python.org introducing yourself. You must be a PSF Fellow Member
to be in this Work Group.

Hello all,

Together with Armin, I created the first three conference kits
for the PSF to use at conferences:

in 2012 and managed the European kit for the past five years,
sending it around Europe to various conferences such as FOSDEM,
EuroPython and a few regional ones:

After five years, I'd like to pass on this role to someone
else, ideally someone from Germany as well, since Germany
seems to have really low parcel sending fees compared to most
other European countries (outgoing usually costs EUR 30-40;

Betsy, thanks for your trust, but I have to decline. I'm living in an
apartment with almost no storage capacity left. I also don't have access
to a car, which makes it kind of hard to transport the kit forth and
back from the postal office.
