Message-ID: Hey Pythoneers! It's time again for another installment of the Portland Python User Group. Tonight we have an amazing lineup of speakers prepared to share their knowledge about Python Extensions. There's a ton to cover, so we're actually going to start at 6:30. Seriously! Case Van Horsen will start us off with a talk about optimizing C Extensions. Joel Bernstein has volunteered to cover ctypes for this month's module. Brett Carter is going to show us how to extend Python using Fortran (yes, Fortran! Cool!). Rounding out the evening, John Melesky will present the secrets of extending Python using OCaml. Following the meeting, I would venture a guess that we'll find our way to Bailey's Taproom (on SW Broadway at Ankeny) to discuss Extensions and other Python-related topics. All are welcome! Won't you join us? Hope to see you there, Michelle ----- Info: http://www.meetup.com/pdxpython/calendar/15184364/ More info: 6:30pm @ Webtrends* 851 SW 6th Ave. Suite 1600 Portland, OR 97204 *The doors will be locked, but let the security guard in the lobby know you're with the Portland Python User Group and they'll help you get access to the 16th floor. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Edgelink has a client looking to add another experienced Ruby on Rails developer to their team to work remotely from the Portland area; however, they will consider candidates anywhere in the Northwest. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running-- supporting existing customers and adding new features. Their software stack is standard (Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, MySQL and Linux) and they practice TDD; qualified candidates will need to have experience with all of these. You can expect to collaborate via email, Skype chat and conference calls. The application supports the provisioning and display of interactive Advertising Solutions for clients within the Multimedia Industry. Please send your resume to gina at edgelink.com for consideration. We appreciate your interest. Sherry, This is a mailing list for the local Python user group, not Ruby. Though we don't generally mind job postings here, this one is clearly off topic. Please keep this in mind when posting in the future. -johnnnnn ps- The local Ruby group has a mailing list through their google group: http://groups.google.com/group/pdxruby?hl=en
