I just tried sending three iso-8859-1 messages to the list, with my personal language set to English, Italian, and Russian, in that order. All showed up with koi8-r headers and footers and iso-8859-1 middle part. So it appears to be working for me. Could it be a problem w/ your mail reader? Martin, what did you see >of my latest test messages? It is the mail reader. Mine (OE6) couldn't correctly display this, either; I had to save the message to disk to see that this is a reader problem. Basically, if OE6 decides that the message is Cyrillic, it converts everything to the selected Cyrillic encoding, and uses that to render the entire message. For non-Cyrillic-non-ASCII parts, it chooses transliteration, which means to strip off all accents, and replace all other characters with question marks. Fortunately, this is for display only - saving the message produces the original data.
