I can't accept this until corresponding patches are made elsewhere in the xml package.  The DOM implementation in particular requires updating, or the regression test will fail.

I've sent mail to Paul Prescod and Lars Garshol about this.  They have a short timeframe if they want to avoid me doing to work and forcing compliance with the coding standard.  ;-)

Added fixes to the minidom package so that the regression
test no longer fails. As far as I know, no further changes are
needed.

Now uses context diff.

This may need to be updated based on my changes to expatreader, but it shouldn't be a big problem to do so.  If you don't get a chance to do that, I can work on it tonight I think.
