I currently have not reserved the room at Lansky's but I will if some one speaks up. Sorry about the late notice, it was a surprise to me too. We discussed some python learning resources, including Learning Python from O'Reilly, Python Pocket Reference, and a couple of online tutorials: http://pythonbook.coffeeghost.net/book1/index.html, http://www.iamar.net/subpages/PythonVid.html, and http://openbookproject.net//thinkCSpy/index.html. We talked a little about learning styles and techniques to help make learning programming easier. Joe talked about pyquery, which allows you to make jquery queries on xml documents and I talked a bit about python programming for web apps, then we ate some great pizza and talked about other stuff till we adjourned. It is similar to TurboGears in many high level aspects. Most of the things I do, I just use cherrypy(not a framework) and then those tools to support the project at hand. Frameworks, in general, carry too much baggage for my liking. I spend time wrapping my head around the framework and then fit my project within it's bounds (outside in), which is just backwards to how I tend to think (inside -out). Anywho, Ian Bicking is a big part of the project and that goes a way in giving it some karma. I think Ian is a very bright and quite productive individual. Do you have something in mind or are you just perusing the current python web frameworks? Best, Jeff On Fri, Oct 30, 2009 at 4:38 PM, Matt Payne wrote: > Has anyone on this list used Pylons? ?
