Not that I know a lot about that, but since MoinMoin just delegates it's transfers to Apache, I figure the error is more likely to be generated there ... There was another person earlier who had transfer problems, but only with big files. It was Guy Mayes (gmayes at vmware.com). Maybe he can give you an update on his situation. Just index some pages and attachments that are not readable for user X. Then search for stuff on those pages with user X. Does it find pages or attachments it should not find for X because ACLs normally limit reading of the stuff for user X? > **************************************** > 2. Attachment Support > **************************************** > What makes me wonder, if it would be possible to search also in > attachments (word, openoffice, xls, pdf, zip, etcetera). Yes, everything we have a filter for (see MoinMoin/filter/ - some stuff there [esp. the M$ stuff] needs additional software installed). Some other stuff (*.iso, *.zip, *.tar.gz, ...) is excluded from indexing. Also look into docs/CHANGES, some of the stuff should be documented there. But still the Xapian Search get's disabled while using FullSearch Macro with Regex. *************************************************** Steps I did: *************************************************** 1. Ok, I installed the PyStemmer and also Xpdf (for pdftotext) 2. Now I changed my syntax and used the --mode-add switch or later the rebuild. The syntax looks now like this: [root at marius server]# sudo -u www-data moin --config-dir=/var/www/moin/config --wiki-url=Home.Heavy.ch:8080/ index build --mode=add 2. while building the index I got this error message WARNING:root:Filter application_octet_stream threw error '[Errno 21] Is a directory' for file /var/www/moin/data/pages/MoinMoinWiki(2f)Gallery2/attachments/img well, i just remove the img directory and rebuild the index (guess it was from extracting a zip file) 3. And now the SystemInfo shows index is available! Xapian search Enabled, index available, last modified: 2007-08-06 11:59:11 *************************************************** ==> Everything seems to work, but... *************************************************** 4. From Time to Time the Xapain get's disabled... Here's an example a) When I start a fulltext search for "xml" http://home.heavy.ch:8080/CategoryHomepage?action=fullsearch&context=180&value=xml&fullsearch=Text --> The output shows that "_xapianProcess = 0.229s" xapian is used. b) Then I call a Category like http://home.heavy.ch:8080/CategoryHomepage --> with a [[FullSearch]] Macro (regex) and after that I research for "xml" http://home.heavy.ch:8080/CategoryHomepage?action=fullsearch&context=180&value=xml&fullsearch=Text and then the xapian get disabled _moinSearch = 1.102s Also some CategoryPages who not Use FullSearchCached doesn't show any entries. ==> temporary solution is to restart the moin application. *************************************************** ==> So believe the FullSearch Macro disable in someway the xapian search. If 'im trying this on a "CategoryLinux" it doesn't happen. So it's maybe the "regex" parameter who breaks the xapian search. http://home.heavy.ch:8080/CategoryLinux [[FullSearch(linkto:CategoryLinux -title:Category)]] http://home.heavy.ch:8080/CategoryHomepage [[FullSearch(regex:(----(-*)(\r)?\n)(.*)CategoryHomepage\b)]] Could you confirm this? or any other ideas? cya Marcel Am Montag, den 06.08.2007, 11:05 +0200 schrieb Thomas Waldmann: > > b) I also build the index with > > moin --config-dir=/var/www/moin/config --wiki-url=Home.Heavy.ch index > > build > > --> and it shows up with no error messages > > Make very sure --wiki-url is correct and it will match whatever you > configured in wikiconfig/farmconfig. > > From the stuff you posted below, it rather looks like it is: > > --wiki-url=home.heavy.ch:8080/ > > But usually you get some error if it does not match. > > > > > (Note: To get a few pages I just copied my data dir from my moin 1.5.7 > > (http://lotek.heavy.ch) to my new 1.6a (http://home.heavy.ch); > > everything seems to work...) > > Most pages will work, but some stuff can break. > > > c) I also changed the wikiconfig.py and yes it shows up under: > > > > http://home.heavy.ch:8080/SystemInfo > > Xapian search > > Enabled, index unavailable, last modified: N/A > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ > > This is your problem. > > > Xapian Version > > 1.0.2 > > Stemming for Xapian > > Disabled > > PyStemmer Version > > PyStemmer not installed > > PyStemmer stems > > NONE > > Maybe installing PyStemmer is a good idea (but not related to your > trouble, I guess). > > > d) but if I'm starting to search it changes to: > > Xapian search > > Disabled > > If moin doesn't find a xapian index, moin will auto-disable xapian_search. > > > > ==> WHY? In general, HTML (and wiki markup, as a successor to HTML) is whitespace-insensitive for layout in order to accommodate a wide range of output devices. It's hard to tell now, because of the way the standard evolved, but originally, HTML was to be a semantic markup language only, with layout and presentation left for the client. Therefore, many layout issues, among them the location of word wraps in paragraphs, are not encoded into the document itself. Line feeds in HTML are ignored by the browser. This is handy because the output screen can range in size from a cell phone to a 16:9 TV (and that's just video displays - print and other media also have to be accommodated. The alternative to ignoring line breaks is to have all text that the client is expected to word-wrap be placed on the same line. This would be a major pain to edit. MoinMoin spoils us by interpreting blank lines as paragraph breaks. Raw HTML does not do this, and even paragraph breaks must be specified with a

      tag. If it's analogous to Draft, it would scroll with the text. 2)Add a large diagonal transparent (translucent?) "Restricted" to the page. It would stay in the same place as the text scrolled. At the same time, it would be useful to have some visual cue for the type of content your reading. In my project, the most useful use of this would be to have a clear indication that the wiki page is old or potentially out of date. I've been looking at using a #pragma time-sensitive # that checks when rendering the page is the page hasn't been edited in over "#" time-periods. The background (or CSS div) would change based on that. This is a visual cue for somebody on the project team to review the content and ensure is it still current. Minimally, they only have to edit the page and add to the comment block ## Review 8/8/2007 by Keith. Another use I've been looking at is to add a div section with such information on it (float box in the lower corner of the box) with information like this is an Orphaned Page, Abandoned Page (not-edited in some time), etc. Anyway, my 2 cents ]-----Original Message----- >From: moin-user-bounces at lists.sourceforge.net [mailto:moin-user- >bounces at lists.sourceforge.net] On Behalf Of Roger Haase >Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2007 8:52 AM >To: moin-user at lists.sourceforge.net >Subject: Re: [Moin-user] watermark backgrounds > > >--- Ted Stern wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> Some users want to add a kind of watermark on the page, warning >> readers that all the documentation is proprietary, restricted, or >> some >> other status. I appreciate the recommendation to use CSS, and the page header and footer, but all of these recommendations slightly miss the point: I want to put the "Restricted" mark on some pages, not all. So I'm thinking of some kind of per-page #pragma. I don't think wikiconfig.py would be the right place for that. As for CSS, I am a complete newbie. How does one apply a CSS on a per-page basis? How does one apply a theme on a per-page basis and not across the entire wiki? The trick is to make your restricted pages special. You were on the right track with pragma. Try something like this: Mark your restricted pages with a pragma: #pragma specialpage on Then you have to modify your theme. Add a startPage method to override the default. This is not marked as a public method, so you should check the method in site-packages/MoinMoin/theme/__init__.py every time you upgrade Moin to see if it changed. (I don't see an easy alternative: adding a div at the end header and closing it at the start of the footer looks messy) For 1.5.8, the method with mods should look something like this: def startPage(self): """ Start page div with page language and direction @rtype: unicode @return: page div with language and direction attribtues """ specialpage = self.request.getPragma('specialpage') if specialpage == 'on': return u'

      \n' % self.content_lang_attr() return u'
      \n' % self.content_lang_attr() The above tests for the presence of "#pragma specialpage on" and, if present, adds a CSS classname of myspecialpage to the div that surrounds the entire page content. Finally, you have to modify your theme screen.css or print.css to do something useful with the myspecialpage class. div.myspecialpage {background: url(...../pink.png) repeat;} None of the above was tested, good luck. Did this a year ago... if you have a custom theme, just override the method that displays that portion of the nav. So not only CSS. So you can start with a 1:1 copy of the modern theme and tweak only a few things. Remeber to change not only the name of the theme but also the value of "name=" in this very script. Also, if you customize the built in themes it makes future upgrades difficult. If you're going to customize, the first thing you should do is copy a theme and make your customizations to the copy. That way, when you upgrade, your changes don't get overwritten by the upgrade. If you just want a CSS change that makes the menu disappear, do: form.actionsmenu { display: none; } Its still there, obviously, just hidden. -- Matthew Nuzum newz2000 on freenode From andym at agora.bungi.com Sun Aug 12 07:09:42 2007 From: andym at agora.bungi.com (=?Windows-1251?B?x+Bj8nBv6fno6vM=?=) Date: Sun, 12 Aug 2007 19:09:42 +0800 Subject: [Moin-user] =?windows-1251?b?zuH6ZeryIO1l52Hi5fD45e3t7uPuIPHy8G/o?= =?windows-1251?b?8uXr/PHy4uA=?= Message-ID: <378674365.20070807994093@200.222.200.46> An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Assuming 1.5.8 as new version. There is docs/README.migration, please read it. The latest stuff is at the TOP. Stuff gets older when you proceed to the bottom of the file. Making a back section / install new code section is important. The 1.2 to 1.3 migration does not apply for you, you either don't need it or you already have done it when installing 1.3.5. The 1.3.4/1.3.5 migration does not apply due to the same reasons. That means that you don't need to run the 12_to_13_migXX.py scripts. You have to do the 1.5.3 migration: you have to run the 152_to_1050300.py script. Read the docstring at the top of the script. Then run the Post 1.5.3 new style migration, it is described in README.migration. The moin command it references is MoinMoin/script/moin.py (or /usr(/local)/bin/moin if you used setup.py). If the moin command does not work, you may have to fix the sys.path setting in it. Then you should be able to move the directories containing the pages on the server side without breaking page histories. If not, you've got a problem since you need to copy the user data along with the pages. You could just copy the files from your wiki's user/ directory, but if any of the same users already exist on the other side, they'll get errors when they try to modify their UserPreferences since multiple identical users exist. We had to write a complicated script that merges user data to solve exactly this problem. First, I set up a network-shared directory that's limited to those who will be updating the excel data. They then "save as..." the excel into HTML into this directory. In my case, I made this the same server hosting the wiki to simplify resolving, etc. In Apache, I set up an alias to point to this directory: alias ExcelShare d:/data/ExcelShare Now, on your wiki page, you simply need to point to it using an iframe, like this: #format html -----Original Message----- From: moin-user-bounces at lists.sourceforge.net on behalf of Boris Callens Sent: Wed 8/22/2007 2:25 AM To: moin-user at lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Moin-user] tables in moinmoin Hi Jurgen, Thx for the reply. You could install the Color2 macro which is available in the MacroMarket. http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MacroMarket Here are examples of its use: [[Color2(red,blue,courier,red courier on blue)]] [[Color2(green,here's some green text)]] [[Color2(#ff0066,looks like hex colours work too)]] When you first use a programming language, remember you have to create a [[Color2(red,blue,24px courier,Hello World!)]] program. What I did for example is: * Renamed the page from ExecutiveSummary to Summaries/Executive * Created the page ExecutiveSummary again * Added the #REDIRECT Summaries/Executive content The last two steps are not really necessary, but it's easier then searching for all refs to the moved page and adapting them. The renaming is a way easier and safer way then opening the page, cutting the content, creating the new page and pasting the old content in it. When I paste a word in the search field I can't search for it. Both buttons are greyed oiut and can't be clicked. Only the return key will work. The problem with that is, by default it searches for page titles, and I usually want to search for text. After running one search, the style property is erased and the buttons are then enabled as usual. What is causing this it that Mac browsers now accept pasted styles in the form fields. In a Mac browser, the purpose is to paste styled text and have it rendered by the script as styled HTML. Unfortunately Moin cannot handle styled text and the buttons are disabled. In the argument table, if there is no number specified, then you must use the keyword like rootpage=SomePage. Secondly, I have not found a way to get a childtree of / since basically, that page doesn't exist, but is merely a pointer to some other page. Other Notes: tree will not work with rootpage=/ or on a toplevel page whose parent seems to be / such as /HelpOnMacros. childtree will not work on /, but will work on /HelpOnMacros. This is consistent with what the original Navigation macro does when trying to do [[Navigation(siblings)]] on a toplevel page such as /HelpOnMacros.
