I'm hoping to find some hints or an answer to how I should try starting pylons from within the Behave environment.py file. I'm a complete novice with testing frameworks, especially in a case like this. I've posted the question on stackoverflow along with more details and some code: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13750642/test-pylons-server-using-behave-bdd-how-to-start-and-use-server I hope you all are enjoying the start of summer out there in Melbourne! I thought you would enjoy two bits of news: We've talked about the Python 3 Wall of Shame before, which tracks major projects and their Python 3 port status. At the bottom of the page, it has always stated "Note that this subdomain's called "python3wos" - once the status goes beyond 50%, the title of the site automatically becomes "Python 3 Wall of Superpowers". I kid you not." Guess what? 50% has been reached and it's no longer the wall of shame. Welcome: PYTHON 3 WALL OF SUPERPOWERS http://python3wos.appspot.com/ And as a followup from the various cool demos that used IPython at last week's meeting, the IPython developers have just announced that they've received USD1.5M in funding which will cover development for the next 2 years: http://mail.scipy.org/pipermail/ipython-dev/2012-December/010799.html Merry Christmas :) Regards Graeme From r1chardj0n3s at gmail.com Thu Dec 13 01:40:22 2012 From: r1chardj0n3s at gmail.com (Richard Jones) Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2012 11:40:22 +1100 Subject: [melbourne-pug] Two good bits of Pythonic news In-Reply-To: <8C33EADF-90C6-4E21-B1EC-3AF028B68464@fastmail.fm> References: <8C33EADF-90C6-4E21-B1EC-3AF028B68464@fastmail.fm> Message-ID: On 12 December 2012 20:23, Graeme Cross wrote: > We've talked about the Python 3 Wall of Shame before, which tracks major projects and their Python 3 port status. Welcome: PYTHON 3 WALL OF SUPERPOWERS > > http://python3wos.appspot.com/ For what it's worth Brett Canon noticed there was some issues with the listing on that site so he made http://py3ksupport.appspot.com/ which is curated (takes into account packages which have been superseded by newer packages supporting py3k and doesn't count all the Plone packages separately) and results in closer to 80% support for popular packages. PyCon Australia is currently seeking expressions of interest for an Australian city to host the conference for its 2014 & 2015 editions. The bid process is a relatively simple one: at this stage, we just want teams who are interested in running the conference in 2014 & 2015 to get in contact with us and to let us know that they're interested in bidding. Once we've received expressions of interest, we will be in contact with those who have expressed interest, and we'll let them know how we intend for the bid process to proceed. So, if you're interested in taking PyCon Australia to a new city and new audience, send an e-mail to contact at pycon-au.org ? let us know: - Who you are - Which Australian city you'd be planning on hosting the conference in Expressions of interest will close on Friday 1 February. We look forward to hearing from you. -- The PyCon Australia team. -- -- --Christopher Neugebauer Conference Coordinator and Sponsor Liaison PyCon Australia: Hobart 2013 -- http://pycon-au.org -- @pyconau 6?7 July 2013, more details coming soon.
