From ryan at rfk.id.au Tue Dec 6 12:34:44 2005 From: ryan at rfk.id.au (Ryan Kelly) Date: Tue, 06 Dec 2005 22:34:44 +1100 Subject: [melbourne-pug] Introduction Message-ID: <1133868884.12470.15.camel@mango> Hi Everyone, I just found out about this users group by way of the OSDC and have signed up to the list, so I thought I'd better introduce myself... My name is Ryan Kelly, and I've been programming Python for over two years now. I develop the PyEnchant spellchecking package (http://pyenchant.sf.net) plus a few other odds and ends that haven't yet graduated off my personal website. I've used python at work for building vertical apps for engineers (wxPython), and at play for a collection of half-finished games, a little web development, and the usual miscellaneous tinkering. All of it great fun, of course! Outside Python, I'm undertaking a Masters (hopefully soon a PhD) at the University of Melbourne, developing declarative/logic programming languages for multi-agent systems. Inspired by the experience so far at OSDC, so here's hoping that the MelbournePUG keeps at it and keeps growing into a useful resource and fascinating community. [I'm just now skimming through the mailing archives - advertising at OSDC was a great idea :-)] Hope to meet some of you soon, Ryan -- Ryan Kelly http://www.rfk.id.au | This message is digitally signed. Who are you working with at Unimelb? Which lecturers? If you're developing a language, does that mean you're on the Mercury team? Anyway, I've got no time now. Welcome aboard. My project is on biological text mining of mouse literature. I think there's another guy from Melbourne Uni as well beside Tennessee but I cannot remember exactly who, sorry. As expected, I am using Python for my programming. Currently I am in Singapore. Hope to see you mid-next year when I am back.
