There is very little documentation of log messages. The 'post', 'smtp'
and 'smtp-failure' messages are defined and documented in Defaults.py
(see the SMTP_LOG_* settings).

For the others, you need to search the source and/or read the logs.

Brad Knowles' daily staus report script is in the Mailman distribution
contrib/ directory and at
<http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1123383&group_id=103&atid=300103>.
It reads Mailman's logs and produces a summary report.
