Normally, it gets rewritten with each archived post. Has this list
received any posts since you noticed the problem?

If there is a good archives/private/LISTNAME.mbox/LISTNAME.mbox file
containing all the list's posts, you could rin "bin/arch --wipe" to
rebuild the archive.
