When you run

bin/arch --wipe list_name

it reads the contents of archives/private/list_name.mbox/list_name.mbox
and entirely rebuilds the structure in archives/private/list_name/.
Thus, you only need to merge the list_name.mbox files into one
archives/private/list_name.mbox/list_name.mbox that contains all the
messages and run the above command.

You don't need to do anything in the archives/private/list_name/
directory because it will be entirely rebuilt.
