Many ISPs do various kinds of blocking that their users and often even
their front line support people are unaware of.

Not directly. If you can see the mailman bounce log, you can see
whether or not mail bounced. The messages you get from "bounce
settings" as list administrator are only bounces that result in
disables and unrecognized bounces, assuming you asked for them.
Recognized bounces that only possibly increment the score and do not
result in a disable are not sent to the administrator.

Also, if you can see the mailman logs, you can look at the smtp log
which will tell you how many posts were sent, but not to whom. There
might also be an smtp-error log if Mailman encountered any smtp errors.

Beyond this, you have to look at MTA logs and/or other info from the
MTA to look into delivery problems after Mailman has given the
messages to the MTA.
