Yes.

1. set all users "moderated"
    that prevents them from posting

2. set the archives to NONE

3. make sure that only the Admin can view the subscriber list

Yes... Add them to the accept list for posting, and clear their 
moderated tag.

AND....

on the general options admin screen
Default options for new members joining this list.
Conceal the member's address

That's belt and braces...
