I'm in the same boat and was going to post this exact question.  

The "solution" that I have is just to discard all the all the emails 
going to the list except from the moderator.  So even if someone decides 
to post to the list it won't matter.  Look at the:

Privacy Options -> Sender Filters -> member_moderation_action
Privacy Options -> Sender Filters -> generic_nonmember_action

options.  Also make sure to set the default subscribed users to 
'moderated'...  All these instructions are in the FAQ Wizard:
