Tobias,

The shunted messages which you sent caused no error on my installation.
Try putting following statement in your mm_cfg.py and restart mailman.

add_language('en',   _('English'),       'iso-8859-1')

You should
1. restart mailmanctl
2. delete digest.mbox
3. unshunt
in this order.
