Hiya,

I have installed mailman-2.0.13 for a friend in Debian Linux and it's giving
me this error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/mailman/cron/qrunner", line 276, in ?
    lock.lock(timeout=0.5)
  File "/usr/lib/mailman/Mailman/LockFile.py", line 219, in lock
    self.__write()
  File "/usr/lib/mailman/Mailman/LockFile.py", line 350, in __write
    fp = open(self.__tmpfname, 'w')
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/usr/lib/mailman/locks/qrunner.lock.fish.17284

I have searched the archives and found suggested solutions, but they seem not to work
for me.

I have done chmod g+w $prefix/locks  - no solution
I have now done chmod 1777 locks which seems to have at leasted paused the numerous
error mails which were going to mailman-owner.

I believe this is not cool. I am a FreeBSD user.

Can Debian users advise.

Mailman is running as mailman:mailman, not list. I have reconfigured a few things.

Thanks in advance

        cheers
