and at some point, you have to decide not to wait for everyone else to

the fact that some people using some clients are going to be
inconvenienced is not necessarily an excuse to force everyone else to
be inconvenienced by avoiding innovations. there's no 100% solution to
any of this. the trick is to know when it's time to stop waiting and
move forward.
