[Mailman-Users] Voiding Cpanel support by patching Mailman?

I know a lot of hosting services uses the web panel called "cpanel" which
usually has Mailman bundled with it.  Does anyone know if patching mailman
with additional features (like searching archives) would void support for
cpanel?
