I've gone up to ~150K without too much trouble.  Others have been
playing with low order million subscriber lists.  Beware that
depending on your host and MTA setup you'll hit critical performance
based problems that will require careful system configuration to get
around well before getting to this point.  See the list archives for
some discussion of the problems and their avenues of resolution
(there are no recipes as the problem is general, just approaches).
