[Mailman-Users] Is there anyway to strip text from the subject when users send email to the list?

Is there any way to strip certain text from the subject before the subject
prefix is added?  I would like to strip out the "subject prefix text" from
the subject if it is already there so that you dont end up with multiple
prefix's in the emails, it tends to be annoying looking at a subject that
has [listname] RE: [listname] FWD: [listname] RE: subject finaly.
