[Mailman-Users] email address problem "name <name at host.org>"

i know that mailman takes and address like "name <name at host.org> and strips it
down to just <name at host.org> before storing it. However i need the full thing
to be used.. 

i've been looking through the achives and cant seem to find anything on this.

has this problems been addressed before? is there a solution? will i like it?
