[Mailman-Users] Problem with wrapper program

We installed mailman 2.0-beta4 on a sun ultra2 running solaris 7.  We
are having 
problems with the wrapper program, it will not work without a shell
script wrapper
first.  The only thing the shell script is doing is set the PATH to
/usr/sbin then
calls the wrapper program.  We tried setting the PATH in /etc/profile
and 
/etc/default/login files to no avail. In the syslog file we are getting
an "unknown 
mailer error 1".  Any help would be appreicated.
