[Mailman-Users] large list, member page timeout?

I am working on a server with a large list (8800 members).  When I click on 
the member management page in the admin section the page sometimes times 
out when completing the portion of the page listing "from abcd at foo to 
cbfs at moo".  Are there any performance tweaks that I can do on the list, in 
any of the .py files, or with apache itself that will help me work with 
this big list?
