It has to do with a new sendmail feature to protect from old holes. Only
authorized programs can be run as mailers. To get mailman back on track
you need to add a symbolic link to $prefix/mail/wrapper in /etc/smrsh as
in:
ls -l /etc/smrsh/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   26 Aug 24 16:52 wrapper ->/home/mailman/mail/wrapper
