after being on this list for a while and trying to keep up with
all the various problems that people run into when installing
mailman, I'd like to make a suggestion. ( that is, if it hasn't
been already suggested :) )

a LOT of people seem to have problems with file permissions.
perhaps when installing using "make install," the last thing
it should do after actually putting the files where they need
to be, is to VERIFY that all files are owned by the proper user
and/or group, and that they have the correct permissions.
is this do-able? has it already been done? :)

maybe configure should -ask- what g/uid it should use?
