So, to access the private archive I have to wait for an email message?

Hmm, there was some plan for LDAP integration for version 3.0, no?

What I'm hoping for is that people who subscribe to my lists with a 
sussex.ac.uk email address will be able to authenticate from our LDAP 
server. This avoids mailman having to store their passwords.

With support for a variety of external authentication mechanisms, Mailman 
can become a much more useful tool for Universities and large corporations.
