Summary: discard old pending posts

Initial Comment:
This short script will help you to discard old pending
posts.
I put it in cron dir and run daily with this crontab entry:
55 7 * * * /usr/local/bin/python -S
/home/mailman/cron/auto_discard | mail mailman-owner

I hope this idea is integrated in cron/checkdb. (sorry
I have no  time to work now)
