Not unless it's been added in some spankin' new version that I'm not
aware of.  It's definitely my #1 gripe with CVS, shared by just about
everyone I know.

Indeed.  Subversion is supposed to (eventually) lead us to
enlightenment.  I paraphrase Greg Wilson at IPC8 who said something
like "CVS is the worst tool everybody uses".
