in my case, mailman runs on www1.miss-janet.com and the website
(including the A record for 'miss-janet.com') is on a entirely different
server

it seems to work ok so far so i'm not complaining :)
is that the only reason for not choosing localhost as default?

later i discovered that it's mentioned in the NEWS file (thanks
to the misspelling patch posted on the list :) ) so I had a look
at Defaults.py... the info there is clear enough...
