1. [New issue] Installation of IronPython on Windows XP over VMware Fusion
http://ironpython.codeplex.com/workitem/32925
User SkipsSGI has proposed the issue:
"I have IronPython installed on a virtual machine running Windows XP (SP3). It appears to operate OK except when I try to load certain external assemblies (e.g. HDF5DotNet.dll - a .NET 4.0 assembly providing .NET access to the HDF5 libraries). I get the error "IOError: [Errno 2] Could not load file or assembly 'HDF5DotNet.dll or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found." I have placed the module (and its dependencies) in several places along sys.path. I have tried several forms clr.AddReference* to identify the module. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IronPython (2.7.3) but get the same behavior.
I have two other native PC's (one laptop and one desktop) both running Win-XP with identical IronPython installations and they have no problems with importing .NET assemblies and, in particular, HDF5DotNet.dll.
It seems that only real difference in the 3 installations is that my problem machine is a virtual machine (VMware Fusion 4.1.3). Am I missing something here? Any ideas?
