I'm not totally lost on this - I can just raise a flag when we are
about the *really* execute the code, to signal that we are now in
thread that should be executing the code.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't have sudden "aha" moment.

I'll try my fix - it's up to other people (that really stress this
threaded shell) to determine how well it works, as I don't really use
these MT shells myself.
