[Inpycon] Query regarding the proposal selection process

Hi team,

I asked [1] about the talk selection process yesterday, but then I thought
the mailing list would be a better place, given that there was no official
reply and I wasn't aware of the selection panellists (perhaps people
replying in that thread) to clarify.

I have submitted a proposal [2] which was rejected, totally fine with the
result as all the proposals are great (literally) and not all can get
selected.

I am sceptic about the evaluation process though, it was mentioned (in the
guideline for proposal reviewers [3] [4]) that "review for each proposal
should begin with the reviewer providing feedback on the proposal to the
submitter".

As I was waiting for the review process to happen, I also filled the
presenter mentorship form [5], requesting help with a doubt I had about the
proposal category. I haven't received any update on it after the form
submission.

Then I saw that emails are being sent to the selected proposals and an
update that all the rejected ones will also receive it in some time (though
we did receive it this afternoon).

Now that the process is over, I have the following questions:
*1. Does this mean the review guidelines were not followed during the talk
selection process?*
*2. Was the mentorship only for the selected proposals?*

Not sure if it's a right response that replying to all the 300+ proposals
was hard, but not receiving any feedback at all, is a little discouraging
and against the open communication that we try to follow in the community.
