I'm not at all suggesting that we don't know what we are doing, but I do
have some suggestions:

1. Please note that the talks remain the most popular part of the
conference.
2. Workshops are extremely expensive - good proposals are _really_ hard to
come by. They are a logistical nightmare - there are multiple sets of
instructions to be sent to multiple people, multiple sets of requirements,
etc. In summary, it's much easier to get them wrong than getting them right.
3. _Very_ few people are qualified to be mentors for devsprints. It is
non-trivial to select devsprints to which participants - both novices and
experienced developers - can meaningfully contribute.
4. In short, the payoffs (and I don't mean financial payoffs) for all these
things are significantly different.

So let us be very careful as to what we are investing our time and effort
in. Overbidding on the wrong things could be a great mistake. Again, and I
can't stress this enough, I'm not saying that we're making that mistake -
we just need to deliberately avoid it.

Thanks,

Thanks,
