[Image-SIG] problem with PIL 1.1.7 on OSX10.4

hi, im trying to get PIL on my mac. i have osx10.4, python 2.6.5, and PIL 1.1.7

I get the error

unable to execute gcc-4.0: No such file or directory
error: command 'gcc-4.0' failed with exit status 1

when i run "python setup.py install"

Any suggestions?
