It is possible to store the comment into jpegs but
you'll have to make some code modifications. You can
check my email 'Writing EXIF in JPEGs' (Sep 18) which
does something very similar, instead of saving data in
the COM tag I store EXIF info an APP tag (see attached
code).

Fredrik: Can these sort of header modifications be
merged into the official PIL distribution?
