Hm... Actually, we are discouraged from setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH at all,
and if we do set it, it should be in a wrapper script.... Anyway, there
exists a symlink /local/X11 -> /local/X11R6, so it is there. I always
heard that it's /local/X11R6/lib I would include in LD_LIBRARY_PATH if I
did include anything.

But wouldn't this mean that changing
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /astro/local/lib:/local/lib:/local/X11R6/lib
to
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /astro/local/lib:/local/lib:/local/X11/lib
would solve the problem?

I see. I found this in /local/X11/lib:

does this make sense...?
