[IMAGE-SIG] Animations with PIL

Is there a way to display a sequence of images in the
same window?  It looks like PIL uses xv, and I don't think
it's possible that way.

Basically I'd like to display images as fast as they
can be read from disk, but they need to be displayed in the
same window.
