Oops.  I made a mistake.  It should read:

    the current (buggy) mapping in JapaneseCodecs:
      0x5c   -> U+005c -> 0x5c
      0x7e   -> U+007e -> 0x7e
      0x815f -> U+005c -> 0x5c
